Clayton County Register, 28 June 1939.
GUTTENBERG: Albert Clarence Rau died Thursday morning at two o'clock at the Mercy hospital in Dubuque. He was born in Guttenberg on August 21, 1892, the son of Emma and John Rau.
On Nov. 11, 1914, he was married to Miss Hazel Franks. Mr. Rau had been a resident of Guttenberg all his life.
His widow; one daughter, Alene, and several cousins mourn his death.
The funeral was held at the home Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, with the Rev. Newell Brink officiating. Burial was made in the Guttenberg cemetery.
