MONONA: Charley Trappe, 76, died suddenly Tuesday night in the Joe Bonzer home where he had lived a number of years. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Carl G. Schultz funeral home at two o'clock and burial was made in the Council Hill cemetery.

Charles Trappe, son of Henry and Hannah Young Trappe, was born in Ohio on November 28, 1863, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 1939, aged 75 years.
Charles came with his parents to Iowa in 1864 and lived with them until their death and since that time made his home on the same farm with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bonzer during the last twenty years.
In later years he suffered with heart trouble, and passed away in the early morning of last Wednesday.
He was a member of the original Evangelical church at Watson for many years; a strong man with marked characteristics.
Of his closest relatives there are left a niece, Mrs. Fred Ziel of Britt, Iowa; four nephews, Will Fillenworth, Britt; Arthur Fillenworth, Sanborn, Iowa; and Victor and Hilmer Trappe, of Monona, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Trappe of Monona; and three cousins, Mrs. Herman Moritz, Monona, Mrs. Hannah Overbeck, No. Dakota, and Henry Lange, Rapid City, South Dakota.
Funeral services were held at the Funeral Home, Monona, on Friday afternoon, May 13, at two o'clock, conducted by the Reverend George W. Turner, pastor of the Methodist Church. Interment made in Council Hill cemetery.
