Miss Ida Helen Gregerson, daughter of Lars Gregerson and Margaret (Aason) Gregerson, died April 26, 1939, at a hospital at Little Rock, Ark., after an illness of about two years, at the age of 45 years, 11 months and 26 days. Ida Gregerson was born April 29, 1893, in Highland township on the home place and was a member of a family of eight. She received her education in the rural schools, was baptized in Marion Lutheran church and was confirmed in the Highland Lutheran church, of which she was a member.
Miss Gregerson was always interested in home affairs and kept house for two of her brothers near Elkader until her mother's death, and then moved to the old home place to work and help care for her aged father until his death.
Ida was a very lovable character, a sincere Christian, a loving sister, and a true friend.
She leaves four brothers, Oscar and George, near Elkader, Louie on the home place, and Melvin near Volga. One sister, Mrs. Gurena Nielson, of Central City, Iowa; five nephews and one niece, and one grandniece and other relatives also survive.
The funeral services were held from the old home place on Monday, May 01st, and at the Highland Lutheran church, with interment in the adjoining cemetery, with Rev. E. E. Ramsey officiating.
Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. Tillie Roble, Mrs. C. A. Anderson and son Elmer, Mrs. Charley Staffrud, Mrs. Barbara Buxengaard and Ole Larson, of Caledonia, Minn.; Mrs. Chris Erickson and son Johnie, Mrs. Clara Hilberg and daughter, Mrs. Milton Ottesen and son, of Decorah; Mr. and Mrs. Alvina Galstad of La Cosse, Wis.; Lloyd Larson of Cambridge, Wis.; Mrs. Gurena Nielson and two sons, of Central City, Iowa; Mrs. Floyd Sutliff and daughter, of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and Mrs. Carrie Larson and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Larson of Elgin, Iowa.
The pall-bearers were Adolph Larson, Orville Larson, C. O. Tokelson, Carl Torkelson, Oscar Benson and Roy Leuchtenmacher.
