Kathleen Ann Berns died April 20, 1939, at the Oelwein hospital, after a short illness. She was the youngest daughter of Marvin and Frances Berns of Strawberry Point. She is survived by one brother, Howard, and two sisters, Jeanine and Elaine.
Funeral services were held from the family residence, Saturday morning, to the Sacred Heart church, Cox Creek, where a requiem high mass was sung by the Rev. P. J. Boyle, pastor of the church. Burial was made in the Sacred Heart cemetery, Cox Creek.
Attendants from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Broun, of Minneapolis; C. D. and W. J. Gleason, and families of New Hampton, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Opperman of Maquoketa.
