Clayton County Register, 19 Apr. 1939.

GARNAVILLO: E. W. Kregel. 76, prominent Clayton county resident, died at his home here early Monday morning. Mr. Kregel had been ill only a week with pneumonia.

Mr. Kregel served this county as one of its supervisors for a period of ten years. He was first elected in the fall of 1914 to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Fred Gorth of Guttenberg and he served continuously from that time through 1924.

Funeral services will be held at the Dickman funeral home this afternoon.

Surviving are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Laura) Brandt, Mrs. Herbert (Irene) Wirkler, and Mrs. William (Edna) Dickman, and one son, Arthur, all of Garnavillo.
