Clayton County Register, 08 Mar. 1939.

MONONA: Funeral services for Mrs. George Sass, Sr., were held at 1:00 from the home and at 1:20 o'clock from the local Lutheran church, and burial was made in the city cemetery beside her husband. Rev. H. W. Siefkes officiated. Surviving her are four sons: Hubert Sass, William Sass, George Sass, Jr., and Eldo Sass; the latter and family lived with her; five daughters, Mrs. Paul Brase of Garnavillo, Mrs. W. Sass and Mrs. Erwin Lembke of McGregor, Mrs. Harvey Sass of Luana, and Mrs. John Frohning of Oelwein. A brother, Henry A. Sueltor, of Garnavillo, also survives.
