Charles F. Koehn, 72, of 303 East Elm Street, died Thursday, Jan 15, 1954, at the Sycamore Municipal Hospital.

Charles Koehn was born at Elkport, Iowa on July 30, 1881. He was married to Sarah Richards on June 25, 1903. In 1908 the Koehns came to Sycamore where Mr. Koehn was employed by the Great Western Railroad. During his many years of service with the railroad he was transferred to Fort Dodge, Iowa, Des Moines, Milwaukee and then back to Sycamore.

At the time of his retirement in 1946, he was the division freight and passenger agent here. He was affiliated with the Sycmore Methodist Church, a member of Sycamore Masonic Lodge 134, Sycamore Chapter 49, Commandery 15, Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine 47 at DeKalb, and the Tebala Shrine at Rockford. For many years he has been a director of the Sycamore Building and Loan Association.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Vaughan; two sons Richard of Memphis, Tenn., and Donald, of Huntsville, Ala.; four sisters and two brothers; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist Church on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Leighty officiating. Masonic services will be held. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Friends may call at the Johnson Van Natta Funeral Home until noon Sunday.
