GUTTENBERG: Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Henry J. Hoffman, 70, who died suddenly at his home here Friday morning. The Rev. W. J. F. Adix, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, conducted the services from the church at 1 o'clock. Burial was made at Elkport.
Mr. Hoffman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Hoffman and was born in Germany in November 1868. He came to America in 1882 and settled at Elkport, where he was married to Miss Bertha Ewald. He lived on a farm there for many years before retiring and coming to Guttenberg to spend his later days.
He is survived by six children, Harvey of Guttenberg, Elno and Wilbert of Elkport, Mrs. Mabel Kafer of Cassville, Wis., and Anna and Henry of Guttenberg; two brothers, Fred of St. Olaf and George of Guttenberg; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rogge of Bloomer, Wis., and Lizzie Meyer of Elkport.
