Former Elkader Student Buried in Guttenberg
Funeral services were held last Monday afternoon for Mrs. Ann (Winch) Meyer, in Guttenberg. Mrs. Meyer was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Winch and for several years attended the local high school.
Mrs. Meyer died of a ruptured appendix.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in St. John's church in Guttenberg for Mrs. Carl Meyer, and burial was made in the Guttenberg cemetery, the Rev. Mr. Adix officiating.
Anna Minna Selma (Winch) Meyer, who died in Guttenberg at the age of 28 years, 11 months and three days, following an appendicitis operation, was born in Volga township, the eldest daughter of Ernest and Rebecca (Thein) Winch, on August 05, 1909.
As a girl she attended the rural schools of her township and after that was a student in the Elkader high school for several years. She completed her high school education in the Guttenberg school.
April 03, 1929, in Dubuque, she was united in marriage with Ray Meyer, and to this union two sons were born - Eugene and Verlene, who, together with the husband, survive. Besides these, she is survived by her mother and father, two brothers, Ernest Winch Jr., and Vallie Winch, and four sisters, Mrs. Sam Morley, Osterdock, Mrs. Fred Follman, Guttenberg; Velma at Glenwood, and Hattie at home.
Casket bearers were: Virgil Clefish, Robert Lewin, Harvey and Harley Clefish, Harold Schutte and Morris Rodenberg.
