Clayton County Register, 01 June 1938.

GUTTENBERG: Mr. Rudolph Overbeck died at his home on Friday morning about 10:30. He had been in poor health for several years and about a week ago he became seriously ill. His wife, one daughter, two sisters and one brother mourn his death.

Mr. and Mrs. Overbeck were married and lived here for a number of years. Several years ago they moved to Patch Grove where they lived on a farm and later on they came back here and had an oil station. Last fall they built a small house and store in the north part of town and were residing there at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and the Rev. Dale Welsch of Dubuque University officiated at the church and at the grave. Interment was made in the city cemetery.
