Cox Creek: Michael M. Galer was born April 25, 1861, on a farm near Littleport, and died February 12 at his home in Cox Creek township.
Nov. 13, 1895, at her home near Littleport, he was united in marriage to Emma Parsons.
He leaves his wife, two sons, Charles and Michael, and a daughter Elinor, at home; Mrs. Ira Gordon of Lodomillo township, Mrs. Emmet Randall of near Aurora, to mourn for him. Three children, Ray, Elmer and Emma Irene preceded him in death.
He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Charity Wilson, of Oakland, Calif., and four brothers, Edward of Fort Bidwell, Calif., Charles of Dubuque, Andrew of Verdel, Nebr., David of Yankton, S.D. and John Galer of Detroit, Mich.
He also leaves seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the home, February 15th, conducted by the Reverend Grant of the Methodist church of Strawberry Point. Burial was made in the Mederville cemetery. George Feller, James Debes, Chris Schrampfer, Harry Kramer, Wm. Bente and Charles Hackert acting as pallbearers.
Those from away attending the funeral of Michael Galer were: Mrs. Ray Galer and children, of Minnesota; Emma McKean of Armstrong, Iowa; Elmer and John Galer and two sons, of Bridgeport, Wis.
