Strawberry Point: Word was received Thursday from Stevensville, Mont., of the death of Mrs. Mary Jane Dexter, who died at the home of her son, Lyman Dexter, Tuesday. The body arrived here Monday evening and the services were held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Hobart M. Grant. Interment will be made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

As a daughter of John and Elizabeth Mitchell, she was born near Bloomington, Ill., on Oct. 15, 1843. At the age of twelve years she came and has lived in and around Strawberry Point. She was united in marriage to Henry Dexter on Feb. 22, 1863, who preceded her in death several years ago. A while after his death, Mrs. Dexter made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Dexter, and after the death of her son George she continued to live there until the past year and three months she has been cared for at the home of her son Lyman in Stevensville. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Clarissa Dripps of Elkader, and one son, Lyman Dexter of Stevensville, Mont. There are also nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
