STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Starr were held Monday, Jan. 31, at the Gill funeral parlors, conducted by the Rev. Hobart M. Grant, pastor of the local Methodist church. Burial was made in the local cemetery.
Daisy Lois Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Cooper, was born in the community known as Bear Creek, Clayton county, Iowa, on May 29, 1875. She lived in that vicinity until she was united in marriage to George Hansel. Mr. and Mrs. Hansel moved on a farm near Osterdock, where they lived until 1907. From there they moved to Edgewood, where the husband died in 1910. To this union four children were born, two of whom are dead. Alfred died at the age of seven months, and Louie at the age of 24 years. Two daughters survive, Mrs. Carl Starr of Strawberry Point, and Mrs. Claude Schmock of Colesburg. One sister, Mrs. Ralph Johnson of Wadena, survives; also 11 grandchildren.
In 1912 Mrs. Hansel was married to Levi Starr. This relationship lasted until 1920, when Mrs. Starr went to St. Olaf to live and lived there until her death. came on Saturday, Jan. 29.
