Clayton County Register, 22 Dec. 1937.
LITTLEPORT: Karoline (Waterman) Krieg was born Nov. 18, 1878, in Clayton county, near Elkport. On April 06, 1904, she was married to Mr. Adolf Krieg. This union was blest with two children.
Restoration of good health followed years of serious illness. The redeeming love of Christ to all men was her greatest joy and hope to the very end, her birthday, the 59th year.
Her sudden but peaceful departure is mourned by her aged husband, Mr. Adolf Krieg; two daughters, Luella Krieg Ball and Edna Krieg; three grandchildren, Merlin, Anita and Lois Jean Ball; three brothers, Wm. Waterman of Littleport, Charles Waterman of Elkport, and John Waterman of Forman, N.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Fritz and Mrs. Emma Willie; besides a host of friends and neighbors.
Her hundredfold tasks performed as a wife and mother in a devoted manner have erected a massive memorial to her name, and the praises sung to her loving kindness by those whom she left behind are a beautiful inscription upon it, "Gone but not forgotten."
Funeral services were conducted from the home, and her remains were laid to rest in Musfeldt cemetery by the hill, Nov. 22, Rev. H. L. Buesing officiating.
