Henry Hines, a former resident of Cox Creek, died at Manchester, Iowa, Sunday, Nov. 21. His death resulted from a fractured ___ received about a week previous to his death.

Mr. Hines was the last of a family of eight children, and was born on the farm now owned by Henry Kahrs, May 15, 1849. He resided on this farm, formerly owned by his parents, for many years.

He was united in marriage to Hattie Letts of this vicinity. They were the parents of eleven children, three of whom are dead. Those living are Mrs. Clarence Fogle of Manchester, which whom he made his home; Ernest Hines of Dubuque; Mrs. Annie Carney of Rockford, Ill.; Walter Hines of Strawberry Point; Floyd Hines of Rockford, Ill.; Tillie Anderson of Rockford, Ill.; Martha Cornwell of Dundee, Iowa, and James Hines of Fort Madison.

Funeral services for Mr. Hines were held in the Shelley chapel at Manchester, Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 24th. The Rev. Clair Brown of the Baptist church officiated. Burial was made in the Cox Creek cemetery.
