Mrs. Charles Breitsprecher died at her home at Clayton Center, Saturday, October 02nd, of sciatic nervous rheumatism, after an illness of two years.
Mrs. Alma Johanne Sophie (Lahrs) Breitsprecher was born in Read township on Nov. 23, 1889, and at the time of her death had reached the agee of 47 years, ten months and nine days. She was the daughter of Christian and Frederica (Kruse) Lahrs who preceded her in death, the father in 1___ and the mother in 1933.
November 21, 1911 she was united in marriage with Charles Breitsprecher and one daughter and three sons were born to this union - Mrs. Lenore Larson, Melvin, John and Edwin Breitsprecher - all of Clayton Center. They, together with the husband survive.
Two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Hines, Postville, Mrs. Minnie Wilke, Elkader. and two brothers, Fred Lahrs of Elkader and John Lahrs of St. Olaf also survive.
She was a patient and cheerful sufferer and had always hoped to get well again. She was a faithful and devoted wife and mother providing for her children a real Christian home.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon with burial in the Clayton Center cemetery, the Rev. O. M. Meyer officiating. Casket bearers were: George Kruse, Otto Seifert, Albert and Ervin Breitsprecher, Herb. Mueller and Harold Seifert.
