Louis Meisner, who died at his home south of town last Wednesday evening, had reached the age of 82 years, 10 months and 26 days. He was born July 06, 1854, at Dubuque.

Mr. Meisner spent most of his life in this community. He was a wagon-maker by trade and for a number of years followed that trade. The greater part of his life, however, was spent at farming. He was confined to his home for the last five years, and the greater part of that time in bed. During this latter period he underwent much suffering.

He was united in marriage to Amelia E. Wagner at Clayton Center, and he is survived by five children, namely: William, Ernest, Benny, Ernest D., and Mrs. Amanda Wikan, all of Elkader, besides his wife, who is also bedfast. Other relatives are one brother, Charles Meisner, of Elkader; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Home Service funeral rooms last Friday afternoon at two o'clock, and burial was made in the East Side cemetery, the Rev. P. Kitterer officiating.
