Postville: Funeral services were held Monday at 12:30 at the home for Charles H. Huebner, 72, who died Friday afternoon following a protracted period of failing health, though he was confined to his bed but four days. Dr. R. B. Garten had charge of the services at the home and R. R. Douglas had charge of the committal services which were held at Elkader.

Mr. Huebner was born in Mecklenberg, Shwerin, Germany, August 20, 1864. He came to this country when he was 20 years old, settling at Garnavillo. He was an interior decorator by trade.

December 10, 1886, he was married to Miss Hulda Seaman, who died in September, 1891. To this union was born three children. They are Mrs. John Gruel of Harvard, Ill., Rudolph and Henry Huebner of Postville.

Mr. Huebner was married December 16, 1891, to Mrs. Fred Miller of Elkader. They made their home at Mederville for about a year and moved to Elkader. Thirty-six years ago they moved to Postville vicinity. For a number of years their home has been in Postville.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and for the past 30 years had been a member of the Masonic lodge. Being one of the eldest members.

Surviving besides those mentioned is the wife, two sons, Carl of Postville and George of Elkader, two step-sons, William Miller of Elgin and Fred Miller of Postville. There are ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two daughters and a son died in infancy. The four sons and two step-sons attended the casket. Those in charge of the flowers were his granddaughters, Gerene and Helen Schultz, Margaret and Shirley Huebner and Elaine Huebner.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Hauck of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. John Gruel and son Harvey of Harvard, Ill., Mrs. L. D. Smith of Elkader.
