Clayton County Register, 30 Dec. 1936.

GUTTENBERG: Albert Minger, life-long resident of this community, died at his home in Guttenberg Friday morning at 10:10 o'clock, at the age of 73 years, four months and seven days. He had been in poor health for some time previous to his death. Mr. Minger was born on a farm in Jefferson township, August 18, 1863, where he grew to young manhood. When a young man he served apprenticeships in learning the cabinet maker's and carpenter's trades, which occupations he followed successfully for many years. He had been a resident of Guttenberg since 1901. His death is deeply mourned by three sisters, Miss Amanda Minger of Guttenberg, Mrs. Emma Kickbush of St. Jose, Idaho, and Mrs. Julia Leigh of Hopkins, Minn., and numerous other relatives and friends. He never married. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. D. D. Welch of Dubuque, at the Minger home here Tuesday afternoon, with interment in the City cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near.
