Funeral services for Henry Fredlake, Jr., former Guttenberg resident, were held at the home of his sister, Mrs. Gustie Cassutt, here, Thursday afternoon, the Rev. C. A. Jacobi, pastor of St. Paul's United Lutheran church officiating. The body was laid to rest in the city cemetery. Mr. Fredlake died at a hospital at Mitchell, S.D., Sept. 20, following a two weeks' illness. Deceased was born at Guttenberg, Iowa, on May 10, 1895, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fredlake, Sr. He attended the Guttenberg public school and grew to manhood here. On Dec. 12, 1912, he was married at Guttenberg to Miss Emma Rethwisch. fourteen years ago the family went to Forestburg, S.D., to make their home, where they lived until the year 1935, when they went to Letcher, S.D., to reside, where deceased spent the remainder of his life.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Goudy, of Forestburg, S.D.; one son, Parnell Fredlake, at home; two grandchildren; his father, Henry Fredlake, of Guttenberg; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Dittmer of Ireton, Mrs. Hilda Read, of McGregor, Mo.; Mrs. Mary Aulwes, Mrs. Clara Dittmer, and Mrs. Gustie Cassutt, all of Guttenberg; and three brothers, John Fredlake of Madison, Wis., Otto Fredlake of Milwaukee, and Geo. Fredlake of Forestburg, S.D., and numerous other relatives and friends.
