Clayton County Register, 13 May 1936.

Herman Schulte, 87, one of the few remaining Clayton county pioneer, died at his home in read township this morning at 3:10 following an attack of pneumonia. He had, however, been in failing health since last fall.

Funeral services will be held in Garnavillo Saturday morning and burial will be held there.

The deceased is the father of Mrs. Mike Miller and Mrs. Max Zapf, both of this place.
