Clayton County Register, 15 Apr. 1936.
Albert Wesley Tujetsch, son of Thomas and Caroline Hartman Tujetsch, was born Oct. 01, 1875, in Sioux county, Iowa. At the age of six he came to Clayton county with his parents, who resided on a farm in Boardman township for six years.
Two years were spent on a farm near Littleport and the remainder of his life on the home farm in Boardman township, five miles southwest of Elkader, where he died Tuesday, April 07, 1936, at 9 p.m.
He was the fourth child of a family of three boys and three girls. Two brothers and one sister died in 1879; Christen, July 28; John, Aug. 16; Maria, Aug. 18; and his mother, Jan. 30, 1914.
Albert was taken ill March 11 and was recovering until a few days ago when complications developed. All that medical aid and loving care could do proved unavailing.
Bert was a quiet, unassuming, patriotic man, who wended his way through life in an honest, upright, decisive manner. He was a person who attended strictly to his own affairs with an ever-watchful eye to render kindness whenever the opportunity presented.
His word was equivalent to a written contract. He will ever be held in high esteem by his friends who knew him best.
There are left to mourn his departure his aged father and his two sisters, Cora and Minnie, at home, and a large circle of relatives and friends who will miss this faithful son and brother. May the Spirit of our crucified Lord, in whom he believed, dwell with them and comfort them.- Contributed by a lifelong friend.
The funeral services were in charge of the Rev. Paul Kitterer at the home Friday, April 10th, at one o'clock, and the Evangelical church at two o'clock. Interment was in the family plot in the East Side cemetery.
God hath not promised
Skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways
All our lives through;
God hath not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
Peace without pain. But God hath promised
Strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
Undying love.
