Mrs. Friederich Mach, nee Emma Behrens, long-time resident of Guttenberg, died at her home here on Tuesday evening of last week at the age of 60 years, two months and 21 days. She had been in poor health for some time previous to her death.
Mrs. Mach was born in Germany on Jan. 03, 1876. She received her education and grew to womanhood there. In 1896 she was married, in Germany, to Friederich Mach and in 1903 they came to this country. Since 1919 the couple lived in Guttenberg. For a time they also resided at Volga City and Garnavillo, and at points in Wisconsin and South Dakota.
Besides her husband she is survived by four brothers, Max Behrens, Guttenberg; August, Herman and Ludwig, of Germany; four sisters, Mrs. August Ruehr of Cassville, Wis.; Mrs. Albert Bahls, Guttenberg, and Martha and Alma Behrens of Germany, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. J. F. Adix at St. John's American Lutheran church in Guttenberg on Friday afternoon, with interment in the City cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near.
