The death of Mrs. Minnie Schug occurred Sunday morning, Jan. 26, after a lingering illness. Wilhelmine Barbara Kraus, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bartholomew Kraus, was born Nov. 24, 1874, on a farm in Putnam township, Fayette county. She was baptized in the Lutheran church at St. Seald by the Rev. J. List and was confirmed by the Rev. Graf on Palm Sunday, March 25, 1883. She was united in marriage to John Schug on February 20, 1895, by the Rev. Graf. To this union four daughters were born. Three preceded her in death, Dorothy in infancy, Mrs. Clarence (Elizabeth) Backstrom in 1925, and Mrs. F. E. (Lydia) Waldron in 1934. Mr. Schug passed away in 1923. Funeral services were held at the Emanuel's Lutheran church, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Max O. Jahr. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Miss Elaine Schug of this place; one granddaughter, J_an Waldron, of West Union; two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Kraus of this place and Mrs. Jake (Margaret) Falck, and one brother, John Kraus, of Kirby, Ore., and a large circle of relatives and friends.
