MRS. DAN IVORY ANSWER SUMMONS

Mrs. Daniel J. Ivory, a highly esteemed and much beloved lady, passed away at the Oelwein hospital last Sunday morning, after a three weeks' illness. Her husband, seven of her children and her twin sister, Mayme McDermott were at her beside when death came. Her passing has cast a gloom over the community, where she proved such a good friend and kind neighbor for 29 years.

On Thanksgiving Day, 1906, Julia McDermott was united in marriage with Daniel J. Ivory of Staples, Minn. He brought her as a bride to the same home from which her remains were laid to rest last Tuesday morning. The funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church, Cox Creek, Father P.J. Boyle singing the requiem high mass and preaching an eloquent sermon, paying a fine tribute to her as a religious, noble character. She was well known for her great devotion to her home and family. Her husband with whom she traveled, in love and loyalty, through the joys and vicissitudes of life, is bereaved and her children have lost a loving mother.

Besides her husband, eight children are left to mourn her passing: Ellen, who is Mrs. Charles Grant of San Francisco, Calif.; James and Philip of Chicago; Catherine of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Thomas, Alice, Charles and Daniel Jr. at home. There are two grand children, Robert Ivory, Chicago, and Mary Ellen Grant of San Francisco. Two sisters survive, Mrs. Annie Askew of Fargo, North Dakota and Miss Mayme McDermott who spent the past few weeks with the family. The eldest daughter, Ellen, was not able to be here during her mother's illness, but arrived Monday evening, having travel as far as Omaha by plane.

Many other relatives are left to mourn the death of this beloved lady and those attended the funeral from other places were: Mr. and Mrs. Edw. Ryan of Minneapolis; Mrs. Geo. Modersbach, John and Francis Ivory of St. Paul; Stella O'Brien, Cresco; Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Henry, Mr. And Mrs. Martin Fitzpatrick, Mr. And Mrs. Edw.
