Elkader Register, Thur. 19 Sept. 1912.

Wm. Tresch died at his home, west of town, Sunday evening. He was born in Luxenburg, Germany, in 1840 and so was about 72 years old. He came to this country about 1870 and has made his home in this vicnity practically all the time since. He is survived by three sons, John, Peter and Joe, and one daughter, Mrs. Ernest Scheffert. His wife died about two years ago. The funeral was held at St. Joseph's church Wednesday morning, Rev. Father Raedler, of Garnavillo, officiating and he was laid to rest in St. Joseph's cemetery.
