Alexander, son of Robert and Jane Riddell, was born at Hammond, St. Lawrence County, New York, and died in Strawberry Point, Sunday, July 28th, 1912. When a young man, he came west, first to Independence and then to Manchester, where he was an active business man until going to Omaha, where the family resided for nearly twenty years. The last six years they have lived in Strawberry Point. June 17th, 1879, he was married at Manchester to Miss Jessie Chamberlin and to them was born one daughter, Florence Edna, who with her mother, his two sisters and two brothers, survive him. Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday morning, Rev. O. M. vanSwearingen officiating, and he lies at rest in the cemetery at Manchester.
