The subject of this sketch was the daughter of Milton Noggles and wife and was born in Elk Township on July 29, 1889. She was a happy, healthy child and a joy and comfort to her beloved parents, sisters and brothers. She received sufficient education to permit her to become a useful and loving daughter and to gain the love of a worthy young man. This was Frank Ortman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ortman, who reside in Guttenberg.

She was a loving wife and devoted mother, as she leaves to mourn her loss one little daughter, Velmah Marie, but fifteen months of age, who will be left without a mother now. It was in March, 1909 that she was wed to the husband of her choice and a happier home one could not well find, but Death come and in a few short hours her soul had taken flight. Seven brothers and four sisters now grieve with the sorrowing parents over her untimely death. Many from other towns also attended the burial. In October, 1910 she joined the Lutheran congregation at this place and lately also became a member of the Frauen Verein of said church. Rev. Foelsch very impressively conducted the services at the house, church and grave, and spoke words of cheer to the sorrowing ones, and the remains were laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery at Elkport. May she rest in peace !
