Elkader Register, Thur., 06 June 1912.
From the Dubuque papers we learn of the death of John Moore, a former resident of Dubuque and for forty years a prominent resident of Turkey River, Ia., who died Sunday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. H. L. Schwartz, 17 West Fifteenth Street. The deceased went to Dubuque about two months ago for medical treatment, but the illness refused to yield to the treatment and he passed away at 5 o'clock.
Mr. Moore was born in Limerick, Ireland, seventy years ago, and came to America at the early age of five years. Before going to Turkey River he lived in Dubuque. Besides his wife he is survived by six children, Mrs. J. D. Welsh, La Crosse, Wis.; Mrs. E. S. McGlathery, West Union; Mrs. M. W. Ward, Norwalk, Wis.; Mrs. H. L. Schwartz, Dubuque; John Moore, Cassville, and Emmett Moore, Turkey River.
Mr. Moore was one of Clayton County's most respected and successful business men and his death will be mourned by many neighbors, friends and acquaintances.
We understand his remains were taken to Cassville, Wis., for interment.
