At Monona, Dec. 20th, 1892, occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Sullivan O'Leary, aged 72 years. Deceased was born in Killarney, County Cary, Ireland. She came to this country with her husband, Dennis O'Leary, in 1847. For seven years they resided at St. Louis, then came to Clayton county, Monona having been their home to the present time. Nine children were born, four of which are living: Mrs. Margaret Dudey, of Giard, J. P. O'Leary and Mrs. Mary O'Neill, of Monona, and Dennis in Dakota. She was a member of the Catholic church, a devoted, consistent Christian woman. By all who knew her she was acknowledged a noble, good woman, a devoted wife and mother, a kind neighbor and a true friend. Her long residence in Monona had attached to her a host of friends, who sincerely mourn her death. The funeral took place at the Catholic church, Rev. Father Corbett officiating, on Wednesday Dec. 21st, 1892.
