Pamella Watkins was born at Malone, Franklin Co., N.Y., Aug 04, 1820, and died at Farmersburg, Iowa, Dec. 02, 1892, aged 72 years. She moved to Ohio with her parents where she was married to William Reed Dec. 24, 1844. Mr. and Mrs. Reed removed to Iowa in 1850, being among the earliest settlers of Clayton county.
Three children were born to them, one of whom, Charles, died in the army, at Jackson, Tenn. Villeroy died when but a few months old. A daughter, Mrs. Lura Rollins, survives her. Mrs. Reed had been widowed for some years, her husband having preceded her to the unseen world, Apr. 02, 1887. For many years she was a member of the Congregational church, and died in the assurance of faith.
The funeral services were conducted Sunday morning Dec. 04, by Rev. R. C. Lusk, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Lura Rollins, from whence a large concourse of friends and relatives followed her remains to the cemetery near Giard where they tenderly laid them to rest to await the Redeemer's final call.
