DIED - Giard Grove, Clayton county, Iowa, on Monday Oct. 15th, 1860, Frances, daughter of Luther and Pamelia Burnett, aged 4 years and 7 months.

This lovely little girl was the only child, and [illegible] the idol of her parents. She was remarkable for mental ability far in advance of what her age would warrant, and her afflicted father and mother are almost inconsolable under this terrible dispensation of God's providence.

We sincerely condole with our friends in their bereavment. Mourning for the dead is creditable to us, and yet, how short a time will pass before every eye that now rests upon these lines will be closed in death, and our friends will perform the last sad office to us which we daily and weekly extend to others.
