Elkader Register, Thur., 27 Oct. 1892.
On Thursday last the wife of John Elder, a German farmer living near Strawberry Point, committed suicide by cutting her throat with a razor. It is said that she had become despondant, and feared the fate of a sister, who had died of consumption. She leaves four children, the youngest about six months old.
