Elkader Register, Thur., 13 Oct. 1892. Littleport column.
John Enderes died Saturday, Oct. 08th, after a lingering illness, aged 80 years, 6 months and 2_ days. He was a German by birth and came to America in (looks like 1844), stopping at St. Louis, after which he came to Clayton county, being one of the original Communia company settlers, and was a man who always believed in the golden rule, and did unto his fellow men as he would be done by. He leaves an aged wife and two sons, Ernest and William, to mourn the death of a kind husband, and indulgent father. His remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at the Colony.
