Mr. James R. Waller and Miss Lucy Mullen were married Sunday morning at 6 o'clock at Bishop Hennessy's residence, Rev. Father Helan officiating. The bride's mother was on her death bed at the time. She was anxious her daughter should be married before her death, and passed away an hour after the ceremony was performed. Mrs. Mullen was the widow of the proprietor of the Central House on Locust street, who died several months ago and was buried at Elkader, his former home, and her remains will be taken there this morning for burial.- Dubuque Herald.

Elkader Register, Thur., 29 Sept. 1892.

Died- At her late residence in the city of Dubuque, Sunday, September 25th, 1892, Mrs. Ann Mullen, aged 60 years.

Mrs. Mullen was for nearly thirty-three years a resident of this city, conducting during all that time the Farmers' Hotel, and had as a consequence a large circle of acquaintances, not only in this city but throughout the county, all of whom held her in the highest regard. Miss Ann Carroll was born in Kildare, Ireland, in the year 1832, removing to New York City and marrying P. H. Mullen in 1852. Five years later she in company with her husband moved west and located in Elkader, remaining here until about two years ago when they removed to Dubuque and purchased the Central House property on Locust street. She leaves seven children to mourn her death, Thomas, John, George, Lucy, Stella, Calista and Maria. Her husband died about five months ago. The funeral, which was held in this city Tuesday was largely attended. She was a devout Catholic all her life. The services were conducted from St. Joseph's church. All her children were in attendance at the last sad rites except the two eldest, John and Thomas, whose whereabouts are unknown, and who do not up to this writing know of the death of their beloved mother.
