On Monday afternoon occurred the death of Mrs. Martha Hurd, after a sickness of about three months with cancer of the liver. Mrs. Hurd was born in Frankton, England, September 22d, 1828, and was therefore nearly 64 years of age at the time of her death. In 1870, with her husband, she came to the United States, and for nearly a quarter of a century has resided among us, highly esteemed by all who knew her. A husband and five grown children are left to mourn her death. The funeral took place on Wednesday at 10 o'clock a.m., from the M.E. church of which she was a consistent member.
