Elkader Register, Thur., 18 Feb. 1892. Elkport and Vicinity column.

Joseph Kuehl's girl, aged nine years, died Monday of scarlet fever. Mr. Kuehl lives about five miles from town, and has three more children sick with the same disease, all of which are improving.

Note: Burial is in Mederville cemetery w/several siblings
