Elkader Register, Thur., 04 Feb. 1892.

On Tuesday, Feb. 2nd, 1892, Stella, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Stence of Boardman twp., at the age of 12 years, died of brain fever. Stella was a bright, active child, and was only sick since Sunday last. Had she lived until Wednesday, she would have reached her 12th birthday, and on Saturday last she had given a birthday party to her young friends, as she said she did not wish to be absent from school on her real birthday. Yet when the day came her spirit had gone to celebrate the day with the angel band. The funeral will take place this morning.
