DIED- David Bertschinger, April 06th, 1889, aged 74 years. The deceased had been failing for some time and leaves a widow and one daughter to mourn his death. His last wish was to be laid beside a brother who preceded him a few years ago. He was a hard working, kind hearted man, and his family and friends will mourn his death. Deceased was a native of Germany, coming to this country in '8_ (looks like 83 or 85). - McGregor News.

There is a Jacob Bertschinger buried in Pleasant Grove, DOD unknown, possibly a relative. There is also a Casper Bertschinger, age 45, enumerated on the 1860 U.S. census, Mendon twp. who is the right age to be David's brother. Casper died abt 1885.
