On Tuesday of last week occurred the death of one of the oldest settlers of this township, Mr. Lawrence McNamee. He was a native of New York, where he was born December 29th, 1805, consequently he was something over 82 years of age. He came to Iowa in 1842, locating on the line between Delaware and Clayton counties, in Mallory township. He leaves six grown children to mourn his loss. He has been a prominent figure in township affairs for a number of years, and was well known throughout both counties.
