Last Sunday night occurred the death of Annie, adopted daughter of M. S. and Rachael Cook, aged 1_ years, of Malarial fever. Annie was a good girl and loved by all. Her schoolmates and friends mourn her loss. Her remains were laid away in the Elk Creek cemetery.

The 1885 IA State Census, Honey Creek, Delaware co. IA enumerated Morton S. Cook, aged 59, his wife Rachel Cook, age 57 and Anna Rulon, age 10 (born Clayton co.). Indicates Anna's parents were Native born but no further information is on the census.Rachel Cook's gravestone in the Oak Ridge cemetery, Auburn twp., Fayette co. IA is engraved
