Elkader Register, Thur., 28 July 1887.

In Mendon township, July 15, 1887, after an illness of five weeks, of consumption, Henry Nelson Barnhert*, aged 32 years, 9 mos., and 25 days. Deceased was born in Elkport, Clayton County, Iowa, Sept. 20th, 1853. Dec. 20, 1876, he was united in marriage with Miss Delia Davis of McGregor, since which time their home his been in this township, on the farm, on the Giard road. Three children are the fruit of this union, Jennie, Bestress and Stanley Nelson. His sisters are Mrs. Wlliam Hasp, of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. A. Merrill, of Hattington, Neb., and Mrs. Alex Moore and Lillie, the latter at home, and the former a near neighbor; a brother Edward, resides at Helena, Montana, and Fred at home.
