Elkader Register, Thur., 14 July 1887.

Tom J. Bass, of McGregor, well known to many of our citizens, died at St. Paul, Minn., on Monday, July 04th, after a brief sickness of brain fever. He was 21 years eight months of age, and was a young man of great ability. The funeral occurred at McGregor, on Tuesday, and was very largely attended.
