Thomas Alderson, one of the earliest settlers in Cox Creek township, died on Saturday morning last of paralysis of the heart. He was in his usual health until Thursday last, when he was stricken and died early Saturday morning. The funeral took place here at the M.E. church on Monday, Rev. F. J. Norton officiating. The high esteem in which Mr. Alderson was held by his neighbors was attested by the large number who attended his funeral. No less than fifty teams followed his remains to their last resting place.
