Elkader Register, Thur., 13 Jan. 1887.

At his residence in Cox Creek township, on Friday morning of last week, occurred the death of Anton Brinkhaus, after a long sickness.

Mr. Brinkhaus was a native of Germany, but came to the United States in 1839, and located in Baltimore, Md. Later, about 1854, he removed to Clayton county, locating on the farm where he died. He leaves a number of children to mourn his loss. His wife died a number of years ago, and on Sunday last he was laid to his final rest by her side in the Mederville cemetery.
