Michael Schiefelbein*, an old man who lived on a farm near Ceres, was found dead under a tree near his place on Sunday. He left his home on Friday morning going to work as usual. His not coming home on the following evening did not cause any alarm, as he was accustomed to remain over night with neighbors. On Sunday, while one of his neighbors was walking in the woods, he found him sitting under a tree dead. Coroner Cain was telephoned for, who came and held an inquest on Monday. It was found that the deceased man came to his death from apoplexy. He was nearly 60 years of age, and left considerable property.
