Elkader Register, Thur., 15 July 1886. Clayton column.

The body of Mr. Geo. Schroeder, formerly of this place, but who was in business at Emmettsburg, was brought to Clayton last Saturday night, and taken to the home of his parents in Garnavillo, where the funeral services were conducted on Monday by Rev. Gammons of the M.E. church. A number of people from Clayton attended the funeral. We are informed that he died from lung disease.
