Elkader Register, Thur., 10 June 1886. Osterdock column.

Death has again visited our vicinity and taken one of our most prominent citizens. Mr. Fred Friedlein died suddenly on June 03, 1886. It is thought his death was caused by apoplexy. He leaves a widow and six children to mourn his loss. The funeral occurred on Sunday, and was attended by about 400 persons.
