Elkader Register, Thur., 29 Apr. 1886.

A sad accident occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Mell Duff, of Highland, Wednesday, April 21st. Their little son, Willis Robert Duff, got severely scalded by the upsetting of a pot of hot coffee. The little sufferer died Friday forenoon, and was buried Saturday in the Volga cemetery. A large concourse of sympathizing neighbors and friends attended the funeral. The little son was a dear one to the afflicted family. He was about three years old.

Sleep on, our sweet one,
Sleep, so early gone;
To earth a child is lost,
to Heaven a cherub born.
