John Henry Bowman, one of our old and highly respected citizens, died on Friday, April 09th, 1886, after a long sickness from heart disease and dropsy. Mr. B. was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, July 14th, 181_ , and left there at an early date and came to Clayton County, being one of the pioneers of the county and state. He was a faithful Christian, a kind father and neighbor, and leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss. The funeral occurred on Sunday from the Cumberland church, Rev. Hall officiating. A good man has gone to his home.
